This detached dormer bungalow, located in North Cork, was built in 2004. It was heated by fossil fuel (oil) heating. The rise in energy costs was concerning homeowner Frank Thornton, along with the Government’s focus of reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Frank wanted to switch to a more energy efficient system.
Our technical team conducted a site survey to gain an understanding of what was feasible for this property. Our team designed a system to work with property location (Southeast facing) and the Velux windows. The main focus was to maximise the energy capacity required.
The upgrade of the property comprised of 14 365w Longi panels, with a 25 year warranty, and a Solis 5kW Hybrid Dual MPPT inverter, with a battery storage capacity of 5kw. In addition, we installed a hot water diverter which ensures any excess electricity will heat the hot water before being sold back to the grid.
